26 People Get Caught Throwing Trash Carelessly in HBKB

For about 26 people get caught on Tangkap Tangan Operation (OTT) by City Living Environment Dept. in Car-Free Day (HBKB) on Jl. Jenderal Sudirman to Jl. Thamrin, Sunday (2/5).

City Living Environment Supervisor and Legal Arrangement Head, Mudarisin, said that OTT is earmarked for citizen who throwing trash carelessly in accordance with Regional Regulation No. 3/2013 about Trash Management. This operation was held from 7 AM to 10 AM

"There are 26 person netted. 9 person must pay penalty for Rp 100 thousand and 17 person get social sanction to pick up trash,"  he said in the location, Sunday (2/5).

He added that the activity also gave an education for people to not throw trash carelessly because it will cause flood and disease.

"To students, we give them social sanction so they aware and inform it to their friends," he added.

He continued that in the operation, his side deployed for about 50 personnel which divided in 10 teams were spread on Jl. Sudirman to Jl. M. H. Thamrin.

"This activity will be routinely held on every HBKB," he continued.

Meanwhile, Setiawan (24), citizen of Bendungan Hilir, which netted by personnel admitted that he did not know if trash littering, in accordance to regulation, was fined. But he admitted that the operation is a very good way to keep the environment clean.

"This is a good activity. I also came to know about this and will not littering anymore," he closed.
